Parents throughout Australia desire for their children to learn through modern educational practices and within technology-rich learning environments. Teachers at OneSchool Global Western Australia School have now exceeded this expectation, recently taking the School to new heights.
The Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) this year reported that OneSchool Global Western Australia School in Western Australia has achieved ‘above average gain’ in literacy and numeracy testing every year for the past four years.
OneSchool Global Western Australia School is part of the OneSchool ecosystem of schools, which was established by the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.
OneSchool Global Western Australia School has campuses in Cunderdin, Albany, Dalwallinu, Willetton and Gnowangerup, and provides a high-quality primary and secondary education to 256 students.
ACARA, the independent statutory authority responsible for NAPLAN and developing the national curriculum, has released a table of the eight best schools in Australia.
OneSchool Global Western Australia School is ranked alongside seven other schools where there has been “substantial above-average gain in student reading and numeracy” from year 3 to year 5 and year 7.
Regional Principal, Mr Paul Maher, said OneSchool Global Western Australia School is delighted with this accomplishment as it is testament to the high-quality teaching of its staff and dedication of its students.
“We are pleased to be recognised as one of the best schools in Australia for academic growth in the Primary years, which reflects our commitment to providing a holistic education and specifically improving our students’ literacy and numeracy skills each year,” said Mr Maher.
“OneSchool Global Western Australia School has not only achieved in our Primary school years, but we also achieved excellent ATAR scores in 2018, with more than 50% of students attaining an ATAR score achieving results of 80 and above.
“We are a progressive institution and deliver a mainstream education to students, utilising Zoom video conferencing with the rest of OneSchool to provide a broad range of subjects.
“Our focus at OneSchool Global Western Australia School, and within the OneSchool Global education ecosystem broadly, is to develop students who “learn how to learn” and are life-ready. Our recent accolades reflect this.”
Florence Draffin, who came equal second place Dux of OneSchool Global Western Australia School with her twin sister Fleur, and achieved an ATAR result above 90, said she attributes her results to OneSchool Global Western Australia School.
“Not only is my ATAR result a satisfactory reward for the hard work required throughout the year, but also a reflection of the quality education system that OneSchool Global Western Australia School provides,” Florence said.
Fleur Draffin, who also achieved an ATAR result above 90, agrees that OneSchool Global Western Australia School enabled her to succeed.
“Achieving my ATAR goal was truly pleasing and puts a great end to twelve years of schooling. Now I intend to apply these life lessons as I fulfil my dream of working in the family business,” Fleur said.
Mr Maher said OneSchool Global Western Australia School’s teachers have achieved real progress at the School, even when compared to larger independent schools and selective schools, through a focus on academic excellence supported by innovation, technology and contemporary learning.
“OneSchool offers technology-rich learning environments and a Self-Directed Learning approach. It is terrific to see that this innovation enables us to outrank other, often larger and therefore more resourced schools,” said Mr Maher.
