Auckland Students Raise Over $5,600 for Child Cancer Foundation

Students from OneSchool Global’s Auckland campus have raised $5,622 to support the Child Cancer Foundation.

Sponsored by families in the school Community and local businesses, students conducted a range of student-lead activities, from themed morning teas to colour themed non-uniform days to raise the funds.

Dusty Bradshaw, OneSchool Global Auckland Year 13 student, said that she and her peers were inspired by the Child Cancer Foundation’s Kaupapa ‘Cancer doesn’t care, but we can.’

“The Child Cancer foundation provides comfort to families and children impacted by cancer,’ said Dusty.

“It can be an incredibly stressful time for families, and we wanted to do what we could to contribute to the foundation so they can care for and support more families”.

Child Cancer Foundation’s National Partnerships Manager, Chris Key, said the funds will go directly towards supporting children and families impacted by childhood cancer.

“We don’t receive any government funding, so we rely on the generosity of our fellow Kiwis to help these families,” said Chris. “OneSchool Global’s incredible contribution will ensure that we can continue to provide essential support for children and whānau going through the toughest time of their lives.”
