Staff Induction at OneSchool Global in North America

Welcome boxes, smiling faces, detailed onboarding and words of encouragement go a long way in the early days for new staff at any organisation. At OneSchool Global, we turn first impressions into lasting success through our Face-to-Face New Staff Induction. Each new cohort of professionals that joins OneSchool Global (OSG), travel to our New Jersey-based Regional Support Office for hands-on learning, platform exploration, colleague connections and a campus visit experience like no other.

A good induction answers the practical questions first, but it also creates space for deeper ones. During our most recent New Staff Induction in North America, we had the pleasure of welcoming fourteen new staff to OSG. The induction included one day at our Regional Support Office and a visit to our New York campus.

The New York campus visit provided a rich opportunity to see an OSG campus and the Learning to Learn Framework in action. New staff observed best teaching practices on-site and over Zoom, the functionality of our Learning Centers as well as the ebbs and flow of a typical day at OneSchool. The interactions were engaging and informative. The experience was priceless.

As with all regions across OneSchool, the induction program’s components were developed by our Global Teacher Academy. The sessions were designed to go beyond explaining systems and platforms; they focused on helping new colleagues understand who we are, how to implement our Learning to Learn Framework and ways they can connect with our global teaching and learning community at OSG. The message was clear: professional growth at OneSchool Global is intentional, structured, and ongoing, starting on day one.

Some of the best moments during New Staff Induction weren’t planned in PowerPoints or embedded in a list of outcomes. Laughter found its way into breakout rooms. New staff started coaching each other, and small victories fueled robust learning. Our newest OSG hires started to realisze they didn’t just start a new job, they joined a team that’s committed to supporting and networking all of its members.

OneSchool Global’s inductions provide valuable opportunities to build relationships, collaborate, and share experiences. With OSG’s North America region spanning 36 campuses and over 120 campuses globally, these connections are a key part of how we continue to grow as a strong and aligned organisation.
