Abbey Tune, geography lead based at our Kenley campus in the UK, has been recognised in two prestigious education awards.
She has been awarded a Silver 2026 Pearson National Teaching Award for ‘Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School’ and was recognised as a finalist in the TES School Awards for ‘Subject Lead of the Year (Secondary)’.
The Pearson awards celebrate outstanding teachers and education professionals across the UK. Abbey learned she had received the award as part of ‘National Thank a Teacher Day’ on 17 June 2026.
Staff and students at OneSchool Global (OSG) Kenley marked the achievement with a morning tea celebration at the school, where Abbey also received her Silver prize.
Commenting on the award win, Abbey said: “I am honoured to have been named a Silver winner in the Pearson Education Awards, Secondary School Teacher of the Year category, and as a finalist in the TES School Awards. That said, I already feel like a winner every day in my role.
“I am fortunate to work in a job I genuinely love, supported by fantastic pupils, dedicated staff, and a strong, caring community. The Learning to Learn framework embodies everything I value about education, and it has allowed me to teach in the way I have always aspired to; focusing on independence, curiosity, and meaningful growth.
“I am truly grateful for all the support I have received throughout this journey, on campus by staff and leadership, and am thrilled to secure Silver while representing OSG Kenley Campus.”
Abbey will now be recognised at The Pearson National Teaching Awards UK Ceremony, which will be held in London in late November 2026.
She will also learn at the ceremony whether she has been named a Gold winner.
