OneSchool Global’s innovative approach to student-led learning has received further recognition, with its Learning to Learn Framework named a winner in the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards, in the Service Design – Education Services category.
The award marks the second major recognition for the Framework’s educational design, following a Silver A’ Design Award received earlier this year for excellence in education design and innovation.
The latest recognition highlights the Learning to Learn Framework’s integrated approach to education, bringing together evidence-based pedagogy, technology-enabled instruction, purpose-designed learning spaces and personalised learning pathways to help students take greater ownership of their learning.
At the heart of the Framework is a focus on developing independent, self-directed learners, supported by teachers who increasingly act as coaches and facilitators of learning.
The Australian Good Design Awards Jury praised the Framework as a “highly resolved system-level education service” that successfully integrates pedagogy, space, technology and teacher practice.
“The Jury was impressed by the project’s evidence-based approach, proven over several years across multiple campuses, which transforms student independence from an aspiration into a designed outcome,” the Jury said.
“The strength lies in creating a clear, connected ecosystem that reframes the role of teachers as coaches while enabling student agency and accountability through structured learning contracts, purpose-built environments and shared digital platforms.”
The Jury also commended the Framework’s operational consistency across diverse contexts and its measurable improvements in staff engagement and student outcomes.
Chris Van Niekerk, Regional Head of School for OneSchool Global Australia, said the award was recognition of OneSchool Global’s commitment to preparing students not only for academic success, but for lifelong learning.
“Education is no longer just about what students learn. It’s about helping them develop the skills to learn, adapt and succeed throughout their lives,” Mr Van Niekerk said.
“Our Learning to Learn Framework places students at the centre of their education, encouraging curiosity, accountability and self-direction while ensuring they are supported by expert teachers and proven learning practices. We are proud to see this approach recognised by the Australian Good Design Awards.”
The Australian Good Design Award builds on the international recognition received through the A’ Design Award and reinforces the strength of OneSchool Global’s approach to learning design. The earlier Silver A’ Design Award recognised the Framework’s approach to bringing together pedagogy, curriculum, technology and learning environments to support greater student independence.
Together, the two awards reflect OneSchool Global’s ongoing focus on innovation in education and its commitment to developing future-ready learners.
Established in 1958, the Australian Good Design Awards are Australia’s longest-running international design awards program and recognise excellence in design and innovation across more than 30 categories.
