Montreal

Montreal Campus is located on the island of Montreal in a small suburb of Baie-d’Urfé. English speakers would pronounce this as ‘Bay der-Fay’. Prior to the OneSchool Global rebranding, we operated as Claireville, Ecole Lakeview School, and Sterling Education and we’ve had two other buildings previous to our current building.

The official language of the Canadian province of Quebec is French and businesses operate primarily in French. Montreal Campus provides a bilingual education to students, offering several courses in French and English. Students graduate with a strong foundation in French and will transition seamlessly into the primarily French workforce of Quebec. In 2021 we began to increase the use of French language throughout the week. We have integrated French into some of the courses in the Quebec curriculum, during NEST activities, we have French speaking guest speakers, and are presently growing a French library.

In the summer of 2012, the schoolhouse underwent construction to build an extension outback. This project doubled the size of our workspaces. Today, we have two larger open spaces that act as our Learning Centers (LC) for Primary and Secondary students. Both Learning Centers are separated into three LC zones—Collaborative, Semi-collaborative, and Independent zones. Recently, our elementary learning spaces were renovated to meet the needs of our growing student numbers and to complement the Learning to Learn framework.

Montreal is a campus that prides itself on maintaining a warm inclusive environment. We strive to build connections and relationships between staff, students, and families. We focus our attention on meeting the needs of all learners so that they flourish in our setting. The Montreal staff is a team of 6 who collaborate and support one another. Our staff are a passionate, resourceful team who are committed to student success and are engaged in the school community.
