Rangiora
Rangiora Campus is nestled in the small rural township, Rangiora, to the north of Christchurch city. We enjoy a brand new, purpose-built campus built to reflect innovative learning spaces. Our campus includes classrooms, studios and an open learning centre. We enjoy natural light, generous outdoors courts and field as well as outdoor learning areas and a gymnasium.
Our staff enjoy a collaborative team atmosphere, generous resourcing and supportive families to work with. We maximise teaching effectiveness through providing training and professional development. Our staff enjoy the best opportunities to see their students thrive and grow and it is a very satisfying school in which to work.
A major emphasis is placed on the individual student reaching his/her full potential. By operating in small class groups and ensuring that each student is individually known and cared for, we provide the ideal learning environment. Our students’ learning programmes are based on the NZ curriculum, and we place a lens of the school wide values alongside their learning, to support the development of well-rounded and positive students.
The success of every school largely hinges on the co-operation, communication and cohesion of all its members and Canterbury Campus boasts many voluntary support personnel, in the form of librarians, a canteen team and van drivers.
“We are a caring school where students enjoy the experience but at the same time we set high expectations. We believe in creating a culture whereby students can learn to be successful, self-directed learners.”
The use of up-to-date video conferencing equipment for campus to-campus communication and specialist subject teaching broadens the subject range for senior students as well as making best use of our human and material resources nationwide. We aim to develop self directed learners and have a range of strategies to enhance our students’ self-management and study skills.
