Gisborne

Exceptional people teaching and learning in an outstanding environment!

That’s our way of life at OneSchool Global’s Gisborne Campus.

Facilities provide for students from Year 3 to 13 to maximise their learning opportunities in a safe and caring environment.

Various ‘live walls’ unite our site with cluster partner, Hastings campus, for all year groups and our campuses frequently join for assemblies and weekly staff professional development sessions.

The Gisborne Campus is situated in a residential setting in Riverdale, Gisborne.

All students undertake study using the New Zealand Curriculum, with NCEA Achievement Standards the focus for Years 10 to 13. Students benefit from our personalised programme to ensure that diverse learners can reach their potential.

Our campus is a ‘cutting edge’ leader in self-directed learning, encompassing virtual classrooms via zoom technology and Canvas as our Learning Management System. These tools and systems maximise our ‘anywhere, anytime’ learning for the school.

“We are a caring school where students enjoy the experience but at the same time we set high expectations. We believe in creating a culture whereby students can learn to be successful, self-directed learners.”

Senior students have the luxury of a Learning Centre to study in and attend zoom classes. The Learning Centre, staffed by teachers and Learning Coaches, has diverse areas that students self-select, depending on the study they embark upon quiet zones and rooms; collaborative spaces and tables; and group booths provide plenty of choice.

A close relationship between Campus Administrators (who operate with the Trust as school trustees), school leadership, staff, students and the community is a strong feature of our campus.

Our Ethos

At our School, students are encouraged to develop their full potential and acquire the discipline of ‘learning how to learn’, while upholding fundamental Christian teachings and beliefs, especially those of purity, integrity and godliness. The truth and authority of the Holy Bible and strong family values underpin the commitment of the School to provide quality in every facet of education – curriculum, teachers, facilities, management and discipline – in a safe, secure and caring environment.
