High on a mountain plateau, the Mt Victoria Campus is situated on the Great Western Highway in the westernmost village in the Blue Mountains. Well placed to serve the upper mountains and Lithgow, this campus has unique character and charm befitting to its mountain surroundings.
Mount Victoria Campus caters to students in years 3-12 with a blend of traditional classrooms and open learning spaces. Our Primary are a part of a multi-stage class of Years 3-6 where they enjoy a large classroom and a Learning Centre with access to the playground. Our Secondary students move frequently throughout the day to their classrooms and Learning Centre in the main building, to the exterior buildings for Design and Technology, Art and Science. Our students enjoy flexible seating in our Secondary Learning Centre, including areas outside to enjoy when the weather is agreeable.
The students enjoy a basketball hard court, a grass area, an eating area with a large chess board and other lawn games. The Primary students are fortunate to have their own playground and grass area.
Our staff and students are quite comfortable with the digital world where all students have excellent laptops provided to them. The staff challenge learning norms through effective embedding of technology into their lessons, and the students are provided opportunities to develop their digital skill from Year 3.
Staff and student well-being is critical for positive culture at the campus. The Campus Principal works closely with the Campus Management Team to ensure the staff feel supported, the students are cared for, and parents are listened to. We uphold the OneSchool values and make sure each staff member feels empowered.
“We are a caring school where students enjoy the experience but at the same time we set high expectations. We believe in creating a culture whereby students can learn to be successful, self-directed learners.”
Mount Victoria’s location offers a great first impression, but it is the warmth and friendliness that greets individuals that makes the difference. We are a caring school community where our goal is for each person to reach their personal best through support, coaching, and noticing what is going well. We work together to create a learning culture that stretches students’ thinking, fosters teamwork, and helps students become career ready.
At our School, students are encouraged to develop their full potential and acquire the discipline of ‘learning how to learn’, while upholding fundamental Christian teachings and beliefs, especially those of purity, integrity and godliness. The truth and authority of the Holy Bible and strong family values underpin the commitment of the School to provide quality in every facet of education – curriculum, teachers, facilities, management and discipline – in a safe, secure and caring environment.
