Student leaders from our 23 OneSchool Global UK campuses came together this week for the annual Student Leadership Team (SLT) Conference, a dedicated event focused on leadership, personal development, and student voice.
The conference brought together students who hold leadership responsibilities within their campuses and work closely with staff to help improve student experiences throughout the year. Through representing their peers, contributing ideas, and leading campus-based projects, these students play an important role in shaping their school communities.
The event explored the true purpose of leadership and challenged students to think beyond their title. Through keynote presentations, discussion sessions, and collaborative activities, students considered how leaders influence others, build trust, communicate effectively, and create real impact.
A highlight of the day was a keynote presentation from Rosie Steevenson, former fast jet navigator, who shared insights from her career and reflected on the importance of resilience, accountability, teamwork, and leading under pressure.
For OneSchool Global UK, the conference forms part of a wider commitment to educational excellence, this means we develop students who are not only ready for academic success, but for life beyond school.
From an early age, students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, develop strong communication skills, work collaboratively, plan effectively, and reflect on their progress.
These transferable skills help prepare young people for future employment and leadership opportunities.
Student leadership is a key part of that journey. Through their roles within campus, students gain valuable real-world experience in problem-solving, teamwork, decision-making, and project leadership, while ensuring that student perspectives remain central to campus improvement.
The conference also provided an opportunity for students from across the country to connect with one another, share ideas, and learn from different experiences.
As the conference concluded, students returned to their campuses with new ideas, greater confidence, and a renewed understanding of what effective leadership means in practice.
