New Zealand Minister opens newly refurbished OneSchool Global Hamilton campus

Staff and students at OneSchool Global Hamilton (New Zealand) were proud to welcome MP for Taupō Hon. Louise Upston to officially open their newly refurbished campus.

The redevelopment has been delivered in stages, with the campus’ 113 students across Years 3 to 13 already benefiting from a new senior learning centre in use since mid-2025, followed by the opening of a junior learning centre and gymnasium at the beginning of the 2026 school year.

During her visit, Hon. Louise Upston toured the campus with two of the student leadership team, followed by the official opening ceremony where she shared her admiration for both the facilities and the learning environment.

“This is my 18th year in Parliament, and I have been fortunate to visit many wonderful schools. This is the best school I have ever stepped foot in.” – Hon. Louise Upston

“The foresight, dedication and commitment from the school community have helped to produce a campus to be proud of,” said Hon. Louise Upston

“Walking around the campus, it is an environment unlike any other I have seen in a school. It is set up to prepare students not only for today, but to be incredible New Zealanders in the future.”

The updated campus spaces are designed to support a range of learning styles, encouraging both independent and collaborative learning, and ensuring students are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

OSG NZ Regional Principal Olivia Brown said the refurbishment represents a significant investment in the future of students in the Hamilton region.

“Guided by our Learning to Learn Framework, our self-directed learning model places students at the centre of all that we do,” said Olivia.

“This approach is built around exceptional learning environments that embrace technology in all aspects of students’ educational experience. The refurbishment works at our Hamilton campus are crucial for creating a space that will serve our students for years to come.”

Congratulations to the students, the dedicated team of educators and support staff at the OneSchool Global Hamilton campus, as well as the wider community, on this exciting achievement.
