Students from seven Victorian OneSchool Global (OSG) campuses have joined forces to raise more than $100,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation (RCHF), supporting vital healthcare investments for kids in need.
From car washes to food festivals, our students embraced creativity and teamwork to rally the support of our school community in recent months, reaching their ambitious target on the back of passion and purpose.
The incredible donation was presented to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne on Monday 17 August at a special event attended by OSG Regional Principal, Mr Frank Vetere, and senior students from the school.
All seven Victorian OneSchool Global campuses – Bairnsdale, Bendigo, Berwick, Hamilton, Melton, Nathalia, and Swan Hill – were involved in this initiative, showcasing the collaboration and camaraderie which the school is renowned for.
Mr Frank Vetere, Regional Principal, said the fundraising effort was testament to the students’ hard work and the generosity of the school community.
“We’ve been supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation for a few years now, but in 2026 we have gone to a new level, raising more than $100,000 for the first time. I’m so proud of our Student Leadership Teams who have spearheaded this initiative with such enthusiasm, dedication and commitment. I also want to thank everyone from the school community who donated for their generosity.”
Mr Vetere also called out the school’s innovative approach to learning which encourages students to be ‘life-ready’ and prepared to tackle challenging tasks that come their way.
“Through our self-directed learning model, students are empowered to take control of their learning – and that proactive nature shines through in initiatives like this, where they have the confidence and skill to execute a fundraising project of this scale.”
Each campus involved found innovative ways to raise funds, which helped drive the positive response from the school community.
Swan Hill campus students ran a car wash, ensuring every vehicle that came through was sparkling clean, while students from Hamilton, Bendigo and Nathalia campuses held multicultural fetes with a feast of international delights on offer. Students at the Melton and Berwick campuses hosted carnival-style festivals and our Bairnsdale students held a Bikeathon to stay fit and raise money at the same time.
“Kudos to our student leadership teams for coming up with clever and creative ways to raise funds in an engaging manner, which added a layer of enjoyment to their outstanding fundraising efforts,” Mr Vetere added.
At the donation presentation, the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Deputy Director of Fundraising, Kathryn Sell, praised OneSchool Global’s ongoing support of the hospital.
“OneSchool Global students have raised more than $400,000 for the RCHF in recent years, which is truly remarkable. This donation will be directed to our Children’s Cancer Centre, which provides care, treatment and improved quality of life for kids with cancer. We’re so grateful for the support and would like to sincerely thank everyone who made this donation possible.”
