OneSchool Global (OSG) students have taken part in Mission Nutrition – a global initiative designed to educate and inspire while building a deeper understanding of nutrition and wellbeing.
More than 8,000 OSG students across the globe joined a full-day immersive learning experience, with Mission Nutrition taking place at more than 120 campuses across 20 countries on Friday 22 may.
The experience was tailor-made for OSG with the guidance of Caitlin Edmonds, an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist Sydney-based, Caitlin has previously delivered nutrition programs for elite sporting teams across Australia.
“Mission Nutrition is a wonderful initiative to help students explore food, energy and wellbeing,” said Ms Edmonds. “Students learned how nutrition can support their education by giving them fuel to help them focus and learn, and the impact of food on their energy and wellbeing.”
Tailored for three age groups – Years 3–6, Years 7–9 and Years 10–12/13 – the day was built around three core themes: Foundations of Nutrition, Food in the Modern World, and Healthy Habits for Life. Students worked together on interactive assignments before applying what they’d learned in a real-world “Final Mission.”
“OSG’s entire learning framework is founded on teaching our students the skills they need to set them up for their whole lives, and Mission Nutrition is a great example of that philosophy in action,” said OSG Acting Global Head of Education – Chris O’Reilly.
