OneSchool Global had the honour of welcoming Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, to our Adelaide campus on Tuesday, 10 February 2026.
The visit formed part of Her Excellency’s state‑wide engagement program, aimed at meeting high school students, hearing about the issues that matter to them, and encouraging their active involvement in civic life.
During her time on campus, the Governor met with members of the Student Leadership Team and homeroom class representatives in a student-led discussion.
Opening with an Acknowledgement of Country, delivered in the language of the Kaurna people, the Governor asked students about their motivators to be student leaders, what they had learned so far in their own leadership journey, and insights into her global career journey.
“Leaders can be incredibly influential, and what you say, as well as what you do is important,” said the Governor.
“Thank you for your willingness to be leaders. Think positively about the future, be confident, and have sense of where you fit in the world.”
The visit provided a valuable, real‑world learning experience directly linked to students’ studies civic leadership, public institutions, and active citizenship.
“It is always exciting and interesting when you get the opportunity to learn first-hand about the things you’ve been reading in books or online,” said Student Leadership Team representative, Cameron.
“To have the Governor take time to visit us at school gave us some amazing insights into her role and what it means to be a leader.”
Campus Principal Dr Jodi Gordon described the visit as a memorable and significant moment for staff and students.
“We were delighted to welcome Her Excellency to our campus,” Dr Gordon said.
“The visit aligned with many of the topics our students have been learning about in humanities. At OneSchool we focus on ensuring our students are life-ready, and confidently engaging with a respected leader is a great extension of their learning beyond the classroom.”
