Maryborough

Wide Bay Campus is the most northerly Campus in the Southern Hemisphere, and as such, enjoys sub- tropical weather. Whilst it can be unpleasantly humid, extremes of temperature are rare.

Summer temperatures average 30.5º – 20ºC and winter, 22º – 10ºC. The school is situated adjacent to a sugar cane farm, with native fauna are well represented! Kangaroos, foxes, cane toads and snakes are plentiful. To the dismay of staff the first snake to visit was attended to by a student! A staff member is now trained to catch and remove them. The nearby Mary River has been home to several large salt water crocodiles. The last caught was 3.8 m. long – swimming in the river is not healthy!

“We are a caring school where students enjoy the experience but at the same time we set high expectations. We believe in creating a culture whereby students can learn to be successful, self-directed learners.”
