The News Room

Adventures abound across North America!

Does a Design AD-venture sound interesting to you? Well, 54 of our secondary students, representing 22 of our campuses at OSG thought it sounded like a great challenge.

Here’s how it worked:

  • Students were provided with a design brief of an eco-centric company along with product information.
  • They were then tasked with utilising this information and creating a compelling advertisement for a new product.
  • Format options included a digital poster, 30-second video ad, or a website banner.

Submissions were judged on creativity, clarity, visual appeal, audience relevance, business insight, and persuasiveness. Top-placing participants really valued this opportunity to put their skills to the test.

“I enjoyed participating in this extended learning program, it strengthened my marketing and communication skills, as I had to incorporate the product’s brand identity into my advertisement. I enjoyed the design process and this experience will help me in the future when designing and creating other advertisements.” – Emma, Stonewall campus.

“When I saw this new Extended Learning program, I was excited because I enjoy being creative when designing. At first, I thought about making a poster, but realised that a fast-paced 30-second video would probably capture the audience’s attention better. I definitely recommend this program to every secondary student because it gives you the freedom to interpret the task in your own way and show your creative side.” – Leona, Barbado campus

Why do projects like this matter? At OSG’s core, we strive to develop life-ready students who learn how to learn and achieve. “Real world” applications drive incentive, plant seeds for purpose and help learners grow, each step along the way.
