Students from OneSchool Global campuses across Australia have skipped for a special cause over the winter – braving the colder months to raise over $70,000 to support life-saving heart research.
Jump Rope for Heart is an annual initiative led by the Heart Foundation that encourages school students to get moving over a 5-8 week program. All funds raised support high-impact research along with prevention and awareness campaigns to encourage healthier lifestyles.
Heart disease remains one of Australia’s most significant health concerns – accounting for around 1 in 4 deaths each year. However, improvements in research, medication and treatments have dropped death rates by about 80% since 1980.
OneSchool Global’s five Western Australian campuses (Albany, Dalwallinu, Gnowangerup, Northam and Perth) combined their efforts to raise $37,700, placing them on top of the 2026 national leaderboard.*
John Carmody, Regional Principal at OneSchool Global, said the fundraiser highlighted the school’s passion for making a positive difference in the community.
“Once again, our Western Australian campuses have done an incredible job raising more money for the Heart Foundation than any other school in the country. But more importantly, they’ve ensured that more Australians have access to better heart health and kept themselves fit in the process – completing more than 72 hours of skipping.”
Two other OneSchool Global campuses, Sydney ($32,724) and Orange ($21,906) also featured in the top five of the national leaderboards.
Since its inception in 1983, Jump Rope for Heart has raised more than $27 million.
