Staff and students at our Auckland campus were honoured to host New Zealand Minister for Education Erica Stanford to officially open our newly refurbished junior and senior Learning Centres on Thursday 28 August, 2025.
The upgrade to the Auckland campus was undertaken as part of OneSchool Global’s campus modernisation program. This investment in our learning environments ensures students and staff across our 120 campuses globally have access to modern, technology-enabled learning spaces.
Erika Frank, OSG New Zealand Regional Principal said the new spaces were specifically designed to support the school’s Learning to Learn framework that empowers students to take control of their education.
“The refurbished spaces at our Auckland campus support autonomous and collaborative learning, because learning does not just happen in the classroom.” said Erika.
“The junior and senior Learning Centres feature a variety of learning zones, resources, and flexible seating options, Zoom pods, and specialist science and food-tech rooms.
Following a tour of the campus, and an opportunity to speak with students, staff and the school community, the Minister helped unveil a commemorative plaque during the official opening ceremony at the Auckland campus.
“We are so grateful to be able to show Minister Stanford our innovative approach to learning and how it is embodied in our physical learning facilities as well as our vision to develop life-ready students,” said Auckland Campus Principal, Izel Thomson.
“Our students and staff love the new spaces they have to learn in and teach in. The three distinct learning zones, from collaborative, to semi-collaborative and the focused zone, allow students to select the space that supports the activity they are undertaking at that any point in time and really allows them to focus and get the most out of their learning”.
Whether it was seeing learning in action in the new spaces, sitting in on a Zoom lesson or even trying her hand at some maths, Minister Sanford was impressed with both OSG’s high quality learning spaces, and the way students were engaged and focused in their learning.
