Brooke Collington recognised at the 2025 Australian Education Awards

Brooke Collington from our Adelaide campus was named as a finalist for Primary School Teacher of the Year (Non-government) at the 2025 Australian Education Awards held in Sydney on Friday 8 August.

Based at our Adelaide (South Australia) campus, Brooke is known for her OSG-first mantra and passion for fostering meaningful connections with her students. She has led fundraising efforts and strengthened our culture of collaboration, respect and shared achievement.

Brooke described the recognition as one of her greatest professional achievements.

“Being a teacher has been my wish for as long as I can remember and I’m so grateful that I get to spend every day inspiring, mentoring and connecting with young people in their formative years. “I am so incredibly thankful that OSG nominated me for this award. To be recognised as one of Australia’s top primary teachers is more than I could ever imagine.”

An advocate for lifelong learning, Brooke’s leadership within our Learning to Learn framework has empowered students with autonomy, critical thinking skills and a mindset built for success beyond school. This approach is evident in the Big Business unit she developed, now embedded in our global primary curriculum, where students across our regions apply real-world financial literacy, entrepreneurship and problem-solving skills.

John Carmody, Regional Principal at OSG, described Brooke as an advocate for lifelong learning and a role model to her peers.

“Brooke is a remarkable educator who balances adaptability with excellence, and leadership with humility. With these qualities, Brooke creates learning environments where students feel challenged, supported and inspired. The positive energy she brings to the classroom is inspiring to everyone at our Adelaide campus.”

Mr Carmody added that Brooke’s impact on students aligned closely with OSG’s mantra of building life-ready students.

“Within OSG’s learning to learn framework, Brooke has given her students critical thinking skills and a passion for learning that will set them up for success not just during their school years but their lives beyond.”

Congratulations Brooke – we are so proud of you!
