“Teaching at OSG has changed my life”: How Andreea Romezin rediscovered the joy of teaching

For Andreea Romezin, a French teacher at OneSchool Global in Chanas, France, joining OSG began with something refreshingly simple. “It was curiosity, first,” she recalls. “I just wanted to know more about the school.” Two years on, that curiosity has become a conviction she’s keen to share: “I wanted to say to everybody that OneSchool Global is the best place we can work. With 15 years of experience teaching French across public and private schools, Andreea knows what a good workplace looks like. “OneSchool Global is really the best place I’ve ever worked,” she says, “because it has the calmest environment, it offers the easiest conditions for teaching, and we have responsible students.”

It’s that final point Andreea returns to again and again. “I never thought that young people could be so responsible. It really exists,” she says. For a teacher used to a wide range of classrooms and cultures, the difference is striking – and energising. “I’m teaching every day, and I am also learning every day. And that’s great, because I love learning.”

Ask Andreea for a moment that made her feel valued, and she tells the story of one student who struggled to learn. Lesson after lesson, she adapted her content to capture his interest. “Now, after two years, this student comes to me, he asks me questions, he’s interested in the lesson,” she says. “At each lesson he says, ‘Wow, we have French today!’ That’s great.” He has since passed his exams – proof of what patience and the right environment can achieve.

For Andreea, that is the heart of the profession. “Teaching, for me, is an act of giving,” she says. “You give students your attention, you help them, you give them care and compassion – not only content. We see them grow, we see them progress, and that’s the best reward we can have.”

Colleagues, parents and a global team

Andreea is quick to credit the people around her. “My colleagues are always supporting me,” she says. “We have time in the morning when we see each other, we talk about our classes and advise each other. It’s a very good atmosphere – a great team.” That sense of belonging extended further when she attended the OneSchool Global Europe and UK ‘All Staff” event in London. “There I saw how many teachers we are, and the importance of having a great, solid team across the region.”

Parents, too, are part of the picture. “Parents are very engaged and very positive,” she says. “They’re connected to us, we have learning conversations, and that has a really good impact on the students.”

A change that goes beyond the classroom

Perhaps most telling is the impact OneSchool Global has had on Andreea’s life outside school. A mother of three, she says the school’s values have changed how she shows up at home.

“OneSchool Global changed my life – not only my professional life, but also my personal life,” she reflects. “Now I’m more patient with my sons, more positive at home, and I have more empathy. I’m even surprised by who I’ve become.”
