OneSchool Global (OSG) Perfect Pitch Competition students are not only making waves with their entrepreneurial skills and business ideas, they are also making the news!
Cassandra of Toowoomba and Brayden of Armidale, are just two of our great students who featured in Television and Print News this week, as participants in the Global Perfect Pitch Competition.
OSG Regional Principal Simon Beaumont said by encouraging students to think outside the box, Perfect Pitch complements the OSG Learning-to-Learn Framework which empowers students to take control of their education through self-directed study.
“Just like in the TV shows Shark Tank or Dragon’s Den, students will have to create a comprehensive business plan that sets out a dollar amount they are seeking in start-up capital in exchange for a percentage of their business,” said Paul.
“We want our students to broaden their horizons and know that they can accomplish anything they put their minds to, and Perfect Pitch is designed to support that. May the best idea win!”
Cassandra said she couldn’t wait to meet her Perfect Pitch teammates and share potential business ideas: “I wanted to take part in this competition because I knew that it would give me invaluable business experiences, and the chance to meet and collaborate with people from all over the world.
“I’m most looking forward to pitching the product and seeing how the judges respond to our idea.”
Students taking part in Perfect Pitch are from across Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Barbados, Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Each team must develop a business idea or product and create a short promotional video. The top seven teams will progress to the final round, with finalists announced in early February. In front of a livestream audience of 10,000 people, finalists will then put forward their business ideas live to a panel of established business leaders who will test out their pitch during a Q&A session.
