Coordinating a virtual choir of primary students across 36 campuses might sound impossible, but at OneSchool Global, it’s just another chance to showcase our creativity and collaboration!
Under the expert direction of Ms. Jennifer Patrick, our North America Music Lead, students came together virtually to reimagine one of history’s most iconic pieces: Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.” The result? A harmonious masterpiece that blends technology, teamwork, and talent.
Behind the music: how it all came together
Here’s a breakdown of the process that brought this musical vision to life:
• Six musical notes were chosen and taught to students.
• Each campus group was assigned one specific note.
• Students recorded themselves singing “LAH” (in key!) for six seconds.
• These recordings were meticulously edited and layered to recreate the melody and harmony of Beethoven’s original composition.
This collaborative performance is more than just music, it’s a showcase of learning and collaboration, transcending geographical boundaries.
We’re confident even Beethoven would be proud of this modern take on his beloved work!
