As we launch our Meet the Team series, we’re proud to spotlight an exceptional leader, whose journey has become a source of inspiration throughout the OSG community. Kristina Daoust is a Regional Principal based in North America and her story exemplifies the power of embracing opportunity, committing to growth, and leading with empathy and purpose.
A decade of transformation at OSG
Kristina’s journey with OSG began ten years ago, when she joined the organisation as an elementary teacher. What began as a new chapter soon evolved into a dynamic and fulfilling career. Reflecting on her experience, Kristina shares:
“My attitude in life has always been – if an opportunity presents itself, take it. Why not?”
That mindset set the tone for her remarkable trajectory. When the chance arose to move to Oxbow (Canada) and step into the role of Campus Principal, Kristina embraced the challenge marking the beginning of her leadership journey. Since then, she has progressed to district principal and now excels as Regional Principal, where her impact continues to resonate across North America.
Leading with support, trust, and intention
At every stage of her career, Kristina has emphasised the importance of collaboration and support: “I’ve always felt strong support from my teams – both Church Community members and non-community members,” she says. In her current role, encouragement and feedback from board members have been pivotal in her continued growth and development as a leader.
Her advice to her younger self speaks volumes:
“Life is an opportunity, and you should benefit from it. Don’t be scared to take that chance. The discomfort of stepping out of your comfort zone leads to some of the most rewarding growth.”
Empowering others through collaborative leadership
Kristina’s leadership style is rooted in empowerment, inclusivity, and genuine care – qualities her colleagues deeply value. Sharlene, Campus Principal at OSG Trinidad, shares:
“Working with Kristina has been a very pleasant journey. She is supportive in her words, actions, and by providing the resources needed. She uses a strategy where she involves you in problem-solving, which I truly appreciate, as it gives you the opportunity to grow. Trusting her as a leader is easy – she shows that she cares not just about work objectives, but about you as a person. Her feedback is always constructive, and even when addressing shortcomings, you leave the conversation feeling motivated.”
The impact Kristina has on students is equally powerful. Max, a student from Rideau Lakes, reflects:
“She’s kind, helpful, smart… she is really fun and always has good ideas. She is always willing to stop what she is doing to help you.”
A legacy of inspiration
Kristina’s leadership continues to shape OSG’s culture, encouraging both colleagues and students to thrive, take initiative, and support one another.
We appreciate Kristina’s contribution to OSG and we are thankful to have her as part of the OSG team.
