Kenley
Our OneSchool Kenley Campus was established in 2005, and in 2015 the existing grade 1 listed building was sensitively renovated to accommodate the developing senior school. In September 2019 further changes and alterations were undertaken to allow years 3 to 6 to join us (previously at another location) to harmonise the development and operations of a truly amazing journey.
Since inception, the school has pursued a programme of continual development and improvement, resulting in a well-proven centre of educational achievement. It has a strong Christian ethos. As a registered school and exam centre, it gives students the opportunity to fulfil their potential with a high standard of learning being reflected in nationally accredited exam results. Special educational needs are specifically provided for by specialist staff using accepted therapies.
Teaching is provided by well-qualified professional staff. School management is looked after by the Campus Administrator (CA) Team and the Campus Principal overseen by the Trustees who have specific areas of responsibility. The school expects a high level of commitment by students and considers the full support of parents to be an essential ingredient to success.
Our Ethos
At our School, students are encouraged to develop their full potential and acquire the discipline of ‘learning how to learn’, while upholding fundamental Christian teachings and beliefs, especially those of purity, integrity and godliness. The truth and authority of the Holy Bible and strong family values underpin the commitment of the School to provide quality in every facet of education – curriculum, teachers, facilities, management and discipline – in a safe, secure and caring environment.
“We are a caring school where students enjoy the experience but at the same time we set high expectations. We believe in creating a culture whereby students can learn to be successful, self-directed learners.”
OneSchool Global Kenley Campus is an independent 7-18 school which is part of a wider ‘education ecosystem’ of 23 schools in the UK and 130 schools world-wide. The principles of our school are rooted on the Christian values which permeates every aspect of its life. These include the values of Care and Compassion, Respect, Integrity, Responsibility and Commitment. The Children actively learn about these values and we expect them to treat one and other in a friendly and empathetic manner. We work collectively to achieve our school vision “A global education ecosystem that develops life-ready students who learn how to learn.” Our school motto is ‘Learning to Learn’ – this is embedded through our specific Pedagogy of Self-Directed Learning which is at the heart of everything we do.
We believe in creating learning challenges for our children, or as we commonly refer to it as, placing them in a ‘Learning Pit’ and providing the opportunities for them to demonstrate their self-directed qualities. We encourage our children to take initiative to identify their learning needs, undertake learning strategies to progress and evaluate their learning experiences. Through our specific Language of Learning (LoL) our students are able to articulate the different stages (Orientate, Navigate and Explore – ONE) of their learning journeys. They are encouraged to make the most of the rich and wide-ranging curriculum on offer, to enables them to succeed and to be ‘Life-Ready’.
Our school provides a welcoming and state-of-the-art environment for all of the students to feel safe, secure and happy. We make best use of our learning studios and learning centres through fun but clear routines. Children learn best when the school and their parents work in partnership. We work collaboratively with parents and carers to support children and we are always happy to meet with parents and carers to discuss their children’s needs and progress. It is the responsibility of the whole school community to ensure that every child feels safe in our school. We take seriously our responsibility to protect and safeguard our students. We have high expectations of our children and provide lots of support to help them to achieve. We believe every child has their own true potential to realise; every child should enjoy school; we plan and offer a variety of exciting activities to make learning fun for every child.
