Gore

Gore Campus is situated on the outskirts of Gore overlooking the Hokonui ranges and not far from the Mataura River which is famous for its fly fishing. Gore Campus caters to students from Invercargill to Dunedin and is a part of the larger South Campus cluster.

We are New Zealand’s newest campus, having merged the Dunedin and Invercargill campuses in 2023. We have a brand new purpose built building that caters for students from Y3- Y13 and a satellite class in Allanton, just outside of Dunedin for some of our Year 3 – 6 students. The Gore campus is north facing, with lots of natural light which creates a wonderful environment for learning. Our students enjoy two learning centres with collaborative and quiet spaces along with studios, quiet rooms, a science lab, and a food tech room, a large hall/ gym with fields and courts for sports and games.

Our learning centres and buildings are innovative learning spaces that allow our students to successfully self-direct their own learning. Senior students can collaborate with their peers, find spaces to work independently and engage with their teachers in one-on-one tutorials or lessons.

Teachers enjoy small class sizes and are afforded excellent professional learning opportunities which are up to date with current pedagogy and best practice. Our staff work well together as a collaborative team to ensure all teachers and students thrive and achieve their potential.

Our vision focuses on developing ‘Life- ready’ students. Our learning programmes, which are based on the New Zealand curriculum, the school values, Career Advancement Programme and our Gateway programme form key components of how we develop our students to be ‘Life- ready’.

“We are a school that cares about people. We expect all our learners, both students and teachers, to embrace the school values, to set high expectations and reach their potential. We have a school culture where all learners are comfortable to engage with others and strive for success.”

The success of our school and every school hinges on the co-operation, communication and cohesion of all its members and stakeholders. We are very fortunate to have the full support of our Campus Trust, parents, grandparents and local businesses and the many volunteers who ensure our school runs efficiently from the van drivers to the canteen ladies and the many others. As a school the students are the centre of everything we do, and Gore Campus is an amazing place to learn.
