Breaking Ground on Sydney Campus Upgrade

Construction is underway on a new Learning Centre at OneSchool Global’s (OSG) Sydney Campus to support the school’s innovative learning-to-learn pedagogy with new technology and a state-of-the-art education space.

OSG Sydney students joined Regional Principal Simon Beaumont, Member for Epping the Hon. Monica Tudehope and City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Martin Zaiter to officially turn the first sod for the new building.

Regional Principal Simon Beaumont said OneSchool Global has operated in Oatlands for decades and some of the non-heritage buildings need to be replaced due to age.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the start of construction of our new modern learning spaces, which are going to benefit generations of students for years to come,” Mr Beaumont said.

“The new three-storey building will include both our junior and senior learning centres, a library, multi-purpose hall, presentation space and canteen.

“It will be much more efficient than the current facilities, which are sprawled out, and will better support our innovative approach to learning which involves cutting-edge, tech-enabled learning environments,” he said.

“We greatly value our relationships with the local community and we appreciate their support as we deliver our new modern learning centre.”

Ms Tudehope said the development is an example of the commitment OSG has to a high standard of education.

“Through its innovative learning model I know OSG strives to deliver first-class education to its many bright young students, and I’m glad to be here today mark this milestone in the development of a learning centre that is going to do just that,” Ms Tudehope said.

Mr Zaiter said modern facilities are important to helping children learn to their potential.

“It’s important that we continue to update our learning facilities, and OSG are leading the way in the doing that. It’s a privilege to be here to turn the first sod so construction can begin on a centre that will serve the bright minds of the future for years to come,” Mr Zaiter said.

OneSchool Global has engaged FDC to lead the construction program, which is an award-winning firm with more than three decades of experience. FDC is managing the process of engaging subcontractors via various tender and selection processes.

OSG has a network of 31 campuses across Australia and employs a self-directed method of teaching called the Learning-to-Learn Framework, which teaches students who are members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.
